What Every Homeowner or Homebuyer needs to know before buying, renovating, or building new.
Electromagnetic Fields (EMF’s) are all around in our indoor and outdoor environment and is considered the newest environmental pollutant in our modern day of advanced technology and communications. World Health Organization has classified high frequency EMF as a Type 2B carcinogen and many countries around the world have adopted the Precautionary Principal, including the Greater Toronto Area pertaining to children.
The indoor environment has a direct effect on people’s health, well-being, optimism, and productivity. Since people spend almost 90% of their time indoors, it only makes sense to maintain a healthy indoor environment to prevent Sick Building Syndrome symptoms such as headaches, fatigue, insomnia, dizziness, allergies, and much more.
Studies have linked many common health disorders and diseases with EMF exposure including chronic fatigue, tinnitus, heart palpitations, infertility, anxiety, depression, hallucinations, and even major diseases like cancer. While governments and health officials debate over safe exposure limits, it only makes sense to use low-cost to no-cost preventative measures to reduce EMF pollution in your environment. For some, the benefit is almost immediate with improvement in health.
In this course you will learn the basic EMF fundamentals and how to apply low-cost to no-cost strategies to reduce your EMF exposure to create a healthy and safe home environment. It is presented in a very simplified and organized way.
Yasmeen is a building science specialist, researcher, writer, and energy-quality expert with over 10 years combined consulting and research experience. She has a bachelor’s degree and a graduate degree from the Department of Architecture, Ryerson University. She is principal of Architecture Cures, an innovative consulting and research company; and founder of the Architecture Cures Foundation that helps transform spaces into safe and healthy environments for sick children and the underprivileged.
She introduced a new specialty in her field during her masters in Building Sciences, Department of Architecture – Electromagnetic Pollution Mitigation and applied her design strategies in a sustainable renovation of 1909 single family dwelling in downtown Toronto, Canada; a model house for research on sustainable renovations. Since 2008, she has been researching and educating her low-cost design solutions to create superior healthy green buildings with reduced EMF and chemical pollution integrated with BioGeometry® Energy Systems and principals of Fung Shui – she firmly believes that “Prevention is the closest thing to the CURE to promote longevity for people and buildings.”
